The stpfiles/ap203 directory under the ST-Developer installation contains a wide variety of sample files. A few of these are particularly useful for testing. The block.stp file has trivially simple geometry and is a good starter test. The as1_pe.stp file has a good example of a context dependent assembly structure, moon_buggy_asm shows mapped_item assembly structure, and rear.stp is a nicely complex, well filled-out file.
